Artist Statement:

I have always seen my paintings as representative of the emotions embedded in human interaction of all kinds. Love, fear, strength, insecurity, loss and belonging are focalpoints of my work, as are explorations of modern motherhood and feminism.

My paintings aren’t mapped or planned, but rather the spontaneous energy of each piece serves as a kind of contemporary self portrait, documenting my life in various instinctualabstracted movements.

I work with a limited color palette to draw attention to shape, movement and form in the work. These elements carry the strength and vulnerability of each painting and, in understanding the finished piece, I understand the piece of myself within it.
