Show Notes

A memoir of colour, crashing upon canvases like waves to a headland. Sara Mugnes uses this body of work to give voice to an inner monologue, her thoughts documented, so expressively immortalised in each of these works. The suite of pieces, like the pages of a diary. Her lived experiences after surrendering to the ebb and flow of her emotional spectrum and finding liberty in it.

Pulling inspiration from such intangible and abstract concepts, Mugnes relies heavily on her technique of demonstrative brushwork to draw up narratives of raw emotion and journeys through them. Working intentionally on oversized surfaces, Mugnes uses the titanic scale to envelop you into her emotional realm, creating a landscape of feelings for the audience to find themselves in. To have you be completely immersed in The Deep End.
